Romeriket Bluesfestival

I arrived about a half hour in to the consert, but in time to hear something so rare that a brasilian bluestune with a touch of tango I was only supposed to take som pictures of Peter Price on stage before I should run to the next consert. But the Norwegian band Lomsk had to wait, I couldn't get longer than the acoustic stage at this time. The man had a style that impressed from the first seconds I were there. I have to admit it, the management of the festival had done it again: To find an extreme good artist that were totally forreign for the public.

Peter Price's repertoar includes everything from Delta-Blues to Folkmusic. All with his unique sound and style. Among others we could hear an irish folksong which was written for Bagpipe and Harpe, in other words a complex tune. He had re-arranged it to guitar.

IMPRESSIVE!

Mr. Price did also play songs from Robert Johnson, which is something you can't awoid at this kind of conserts. The consert were finnished with a indian(!) delta-blues with rappidly pace and stylechanges. Beleave it or not, but he made the guitar sound like a Sitar in parts of the song.
When it comes to his voice, he doesn't sound like the old black singers, but I didn't miss it either. Peter Price added the songs a different, but just as great, dimension. It is clearly that he has got his inspiration form roots-music from all over the world, and I have a suspision that he has been studying classic guitar once. Variaty and cleaver is the main words for this artist. And today the audience listen instead of talking through the consert!!!

Conclution: This was a great experience and supprise for yours truly, and it should be a reminder for the people not to pay attention to the name. The artists, that is unknown for us, really gives you a big supprice.
