Gibson SJ Deluxe
This guitar certainly looks like it could tell a few stories. Probably manufactured in the late 60s or early 70s Peter bought it from Frailers in Runcorn, Cheshire about 15 years ago. People here have told him (usually guitar makers or collectors!) that he must be mad to tour with such a lovely instrument. ' I suppose there is always a risk that something disatrous could happen whilst on the road, but then again guitars are meant to be played and listened to, not merely looked at and admired!' He uses either Carter or D'addario strings, 12' to 52' on this guitar.

Beltona
A beautiful guitar made from Bell Brass by his good friend Bill Johnson and Steve Evans, who provided and fitted the neck! This and the Gibson are his main concert guitars.
Peter plays this guitar with much heavier strings-15 to 60 guage.

Also pictured is a Tricone guitar made by Bill Johnson which is he says the most amazing slide guitar he has ever played.

'When I first heard that Peter Price was setting up a Web site I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to set the record straight and thank him for all of his help over the past 14 years.

When I first started making guitars I needed someone to try them out, there were not many musicians playing resonated guitars at this time, at least not locally. It became apparent that a different technique was required for these instruments. After making enquiries Peter Prices name was mention so I decided to knock on his door one night. Without any hesitation he agreed to help and was soon exposing shortcomings of the first prototypes. We worked closely together trying to produce an authentic resonator sound. Peter described what was needed and I tried to make the to make the necessary changes to the instruments. things did not always go well at first but Peter encouraged me to persevere even when I felt like throwing in the towel and eventually progress was made. About two years later on a chance meeting with Steve Evans, Beltona was formed and I have spent the last twelve years involved in making instruments. I believe none of this would have happened without Petes encouragement for which I will be grateful.

We continue to work together to this day - who knows where this will lead to next?'
